A maximum number of 6 people applies to all our camping pitches and campervan spots.
Groups not allowed
Due to the small-scale and quiet nature of our campsite, groups are not allowed. We do not have a separate field for groups, so we cannot maintain the peace for our other guests.
From 2024 all our camping and camper pitches have access to 10 Amps of electricity.
Car-free
To preserve the peace on our small campsite, we are car-free. You can bring your car onto the campsite at arrival and departure to unload and load your belongings. There is plenty of (free) parking available around the campsite, at your own risk. We will show you the way upon arrival.
There is no WiFi at your spot. We have created a special WiFi-lounge area near the sanitary building. Because we are in the urban area of The Netherlands you’ll have good a good connection with your own mobile bundle.
We love trees! So we can unfortunately not guarantee satellite connection.
Dogs are welcome!
Dogs are very welcome at our campsite, but only if they are well-behaved, don’t bark, and do not disturb other guests. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times on the campsite and may not be walked on the campsite. There are many walking opportunities outside the campsite (short or long routes). A maximum of 2 dogs per camping or camper pitch is allowed.
The surface of all our camping and motorhome pitches is grass, which we mow regularly. To prevent bald spots, we keep a maximum of 2 weeks for a stay.
No, luckily we have found a solution to this so that you can leave carefree. All our campervan spots are now equipped with a specially reinforced track where you can drive your van or motorhome on and off. As long as you keep your wheels on this track, you will never sink into the grass in wet weather.
Maximum two weeks
We are a hikers’ campsite and we love it when as many people as possible can enjoy our place and surroundings.
By bike it is only 20 minutes by bike (5km) to the heart of Leiden. It is also a beautiful cycling route, between the meadows and the canal ‘de Vliet’.
By car you are there within 10 minutes. There is plenty of parking space in Leiden.
See Region & Tips for our recommendations in Leiden and the best parking options for your bicycle or car.
The Hague is about 12 kilometers from the campsite. You can cycle there in 40 minutes by bike. Faster by car of course 😉
We are close to the sea and many nice beaches such as Wassenaarse-slag (10 km), Katwijk aan Zee (12 km), Scheveningen (15 km) and Noordwijk (18 km).
No, you don’t need tokens for the shower and you can shower as long as you want. But, think about the climate a bit 😉
Yes, toilet paper is provided. So basically you don’t have to cross the campsite with your roll under your arm. But if you are attached to your own toilet paper, you can ofcourse always take it with you.
In case of an emergency where the police, fire brigade or medical assistance is required, always call 112 first.
In other situations you can always reach us outside reception opening hours via Whatsapp or by telephone (if acute) on the emergency number. This can be found in front of the reception door.
Of course you can enjoy music (or radio, television) at your camping spot; if it’s not a nuisance for your neighbours.
To ensure that everyone can truly relax, we maintain a quiet period between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Everything for a good night’s sleep!
Under the age of 21, you are only allowed to camp with us if a parent is present for the entire stay.
In front of our campsite is the harbor of Vlietland. There are a number of passing places here. Ask our neighbors at Watersportcentrum Vlietland about the possibilities.
The maximum dimensions for boats in this harbor are 7 meters long by 2.60 meters wide. The headroom of the lake is a maximum of 1.5 meters (if you enter the lake via the Vliet canal). There is also a trailer ramp at the Watersportcentrum.
Please note! The harbor does not store rubber boats and it is also not permitted to temporarily place them in or around the harbor. However, you can of course place it on the campsite, on your own campsite.
Larger boat? This can possibly be stored at Vlietland Jachtservice opposite the campsite.
Yes, definitely! There is so much beautiful nature in the area, in the ‘Green Heart’ of the Netherlands.
One route that we definitely recommend is the estate route (Landgoederenroute). This route goes through Wassenaar, via the extensive nature and dune area Meijendel to The Hague. In our opinion, it is the most beautiful bike route in the Netherlands! But maybe we are not completely objective… 😉
We are also located 100 meters from cycle junction 92. Here you will find a board with a variety of bike routes that you can put together yourself!
Don’t feel like cooking? No problem! There is a great restaurant called Waterfront next to the campsite (about 100 meters away). It also has a beautiful view of the lake.
They also have a snack bar where you can order fries, snacks, cold drinks, and ice cream to take to the beach or your campsite.
In addition, there are many catering options in the area. Both in the nearest village of Voorschoten (Voorstraat) and in the center of Leiden, which is full of great food and drink places!
Check out our personal recommendations under the heading “Food & Drink”
Just cross the pedestrian and cyclist bridge (the “blue bridge”) and you are back in the inhabited world of Voorschoten from the oasis of the Vlietland recreation area. Here you can find Albert Heijn (Schoolstraat 1) or Aldi (Schoolstraat 6) within 6 minutes by bicycle.
By car, the Albert Heijn XL (Bevrijdingsplein 50) in Leiden is a good option, 10 minutes away from the campsite. You can also park your car in the parking garage here (free).
Yes, there are two large sandy beaches within a few minutes’ walking distance.
There is also a nice and sheltered grass beach for naturists on the lake, within a 10-minute walk.
Yes, all year round!
The water quality in Vlietland is above average, thanks to a special “bubble system” in the lake.
The province of South Holland conducts very regular measurements of the water quality. This is kept up to date on the Zwemwater website.
Unfortunately, we do not have a shared refrigerator. However, you can drop off and pick up your cool elements during reception opening hours.
